One of the biggest female rappers in Zimbabwe..

Born Tania Seremwe in Harare, Zimbabwe, Young Gemini is 21 year old singer, songwriter and rapper currently residing in Norton, Zimbabwe. She began her music career in 2019 as a songwriter and has performed at multiple festivals across the country including The Changamire Hip-Hop Festival, Hustlers Market and Shoko Festival and has collaborated with multiple artists such as Tashamiswa, Ti Gonzi, Prince Boyah and many more. Most recently she has released her debut album "RAPTURE" as well as a mixtape titled "Love Is Violent Everyday". She also has big hits making waves all over Zimbabwe such as "trust" which was released 01/06/2023 , "mae" which was released 17/03/23 , "rooftop" which was released 22/07/22 , Bad released 10/12/2020 and many more. Young Gemini made money as a makeup artist because of the lack of support when she was starting out. She didn’t have an agent, so basically she had to hustle but Luck struck when a producer looked at one of her songs and realised she was talented.
This allowed her to go from being a makeup artist with singing as a side gig to being able to make music full-time. It’s also important for her to make time daily to write her songs. Young Gemini is grateful for the continuous motivation and support that she has always received from her parents. It’s their inspiration that makes her go for her dreams. Their encouragement is what made her believe in taking up an offer to do a television ad with Mukuru that talks about how our older generations have paved the way and made sacrifices to fuel the dreams of younger generations.Looking up to icons such as Jeezy and Joyner Lucas, Young Gemini aims to start a music school for women, giving back to her community and expanding her love of the art. She also has a dream of creating an entirely female-run studio, from the musicians through to the producers. younggeminiofficial@gmail.com young_gemini_official younggeminiofficial YoungGeminiii m.youtube.com/watch?v=J26NVyZGXYA

CONDOMS AND SANITARY PADS DEBATE IN CONCLUSION

Ever since I can remember, menstruation has been a topic that has not been a subject of discussion that people have had in public. It has not been one of the breakfast, lunch or dinner discussions.
Not even have I heard a husband asking a wife ‘how is your period today?’

Menstruation has been and still is an issue that has been discussed in private mostly by females. Fathers might be involved at some point, but this rarely happens.

Males and females’ communication concerning menstruation have been through symbolism, gestures and simply guess work. A male has to read the signs and break through the jigsaw puzzle to know that a woman is going through her menstruation.

Lately, the menstruation silence code has been broken, and it is now a topic of discussion in public. Not that everyone is comfortable talking about it, or sees the relevance in having a conversation about menstruation but the discussion seems to be going on.

The facilities in prisons were also found not to friendly to women and girls.

‘During menstruation we improvise! We use Chitenje mostly, or whatever we can use at that time’-Said one of the prisoners

These problems have made people call for the improvement of Sanitation facilities and infrastructure, especially in public places. They have also been calls for addressing myths and misconceptions around menstruation. Recently the calls have been for free sanitary pads in public facilities like schools, prisons, and shelters.

It remains unclear on whether the free pads have to be for everyone, or they apply to the people that cannot afford to access pads due to financial problems.

In the midst of a solid campaign for free sanitary pads, another movement calling for the government to replace free condoms with free pads seems to be gaining ground.

‘’Condoms should be sold, Sanitary pads should be given for free. Sex is a choice; menstruation is not.’

This sounds rather catchy, but makes me ask, why do we have free condom system almost globally.

If memory serves me well, I remember that free condoms were introduced among things to address HIV prevalence, and teen pregnancies that also have an impact on school drop out of the same girls. Would then, the introduction of a cost on free condoms address cases of girls drop-out in schools? Condoms were also introduced to protect women and girls from catching STDs and HIV/AIDS. What happens when a cost is added to free condoms?

I believe that condoms and pads are all critical issues that need to be given their due attention due to the reasons made earlier. It is not a case of either free Pads or free condoms. It is a case of both free pads and free condoms. In fact, free condoms and free pads are complementary for the safety and education of girls and women. Therefore, condoms should remain free, and sanitary pads should also be free.

LALA NGOKUTHULA DANIEL DOUBT (DADDY D)

Speak of me as you have always done.

Remember the good times, laughter, and fun.

Share the happy memories we've made.
Do not let them wither or fade.

I'll be with you in the summer's sun
And when the winter's chill has come.

I'll be the voice that whispers in the breeze.
I'm peaceful now, put your mind at ease.

I've rested my eyes and gone to sleep,
But memories we've shared are yours to keep.

Sometimes our final days may be a test,
But remember me when I was at my best.

Although things may not be the same,
Don't be afraid to use my name.

Let your sorrow last for just a while.
Comfort each other and try to smile.

I've lived a life filled with joy and fun.
Live on now, make me proud of what you'll become.

R.I.P DOUBT WE WILL MISS YOU

REST IN PEACE DANIEL DOUBT ( DADDY D)

When great trees fall,
rocks on distant hills shudder,
lions hunker down
in tall grasses,
and even elephants
lumber after safety.

When great trees fall
in forests,
small things recoil into silence,
their senses
eroded beyond fear.

When great souls die,
the air around us becomes
light, rare, sterile.
We breathe, briefly.
Our eyes, briefly,
see with
a hurtful clarity.
Our memory, suddenly sharpened,
examines,
gnaws on kind words
unsaid,
promised walks
never taken.

Great souls die and
our reality, bound to
them, takes leave of us.
Our souls,
dependent upon their
nurture,
now shrink, wizened.
Our minds, formed
and informed by their
radiance,
fall away.
We are not so much maddened
as reduced to the unutterable ignorance
of dark, cold
caves.

And when great souls die,
after a period peace blooms,
slowly and always
irregularly. Spaces fill
with a kind of
soothing electric vibration.
Our senses, restored, never
to be the same, whisper to us.
They existed. They existed.
We can be. Be and be
better. For they existed.

NINE DAY MARATHON IN GOD'S ARMS DAY 5

NINE DAY MARATHON IN GOD'S ARMS

DAY 5

Forgive Me Father

I steal from you,

Even when you offer to give,

Wholeheartedly to your son,

I grab it with force from your hands,

I'm not even grateful for all you do to me.

My tongue is sour and bitter,

My saliva has turned acidic and bile,

Anything coming from my mouth is lethal,

I spit venom and vomit toxic words from my lips,

I'm always rattling and complaining of my life.

When I kneel down to pray,

No appreciation cross my mind,

Like a hornbill I sing my problems,

Words forming lines that make stanzas,

I later create beats to make my problems seem big.

I never mention your goodness,

The love you had for me to send your Son,

Jesus Christ to take the cross for my sins,

He was painted dirt and later crucified alive,

I've failed to express and share this kind of love.

Despite of all my unkindness,

I have never gone without food and water,

I wake up every morning despite my sinful ways,

Forgive Me Father for I have sinned before You,

I detest all my sins and ask for your forgiveness.
