Wanda the poet has been writing since 2009 but did not know what category of his writing . He was writing his life challenges , then in 2019 he joined a poetry group in Kenya to strengthen his skills . But when the covid pandemic hit Africa alot of activities were put on hold
Being an introvert and loner, he did not know any famous poet who inspired him. He only received small guidance from a friend Samuel Otieno (Shamokwale) from there he interacted with so many people and great poets in Kenya. But the people he can call his biggest influencers are Okot pBitek, Chinua Achebe and Ngugi wa Thiong'o
The poets journey for him has been tough . Language mastery and articulation , he did not like English and when he started to write it became hard to crack , by then it posed a great challenge in grammar and sentence structuring and minimal in the right poetic language .
"your dream may delay but it will never fail to be, never give up, never lose hope. never stop dreaming. Remember no road of success is smooth and rosy. Each and every day is a new inspiration to keep you going and moving were his last words to young aspiring poets in Africa.
